Thanks Griz!
With 27cm in the last 24hrs getting home at a reasonable time last night was a must. I ended up wondering home at 11pm, and it was snowing light and dry. Time to get the gear ready for a quick morning escape. Got to the lift at 8:45am just to see about a 100 others that had that same stoked look on there faces. The hoots started at 9am as the first chair departed.
Closures left all the powder hounds to the Timber Bowl. Currie, Lizard, and Cedar were closed. I would assume last weeks inbound avalanche and current heavy snow weighed on the avi patrol to keep everybody safe. Even the terrain park and upper Falling Star was closed due to the recent snow. Too much snow! Naw!
Untracked lines were found in the trees near Puff, Shakey’s Acres (thanks to the patrol that lifted the sign the second we got there). Milky Way and Morning Glory had the deepest snow deposits and nobody in sight. The top of the mountain is riding really good. The snow is getting lighter and if this keeps up (forecasting another 20cm tonight) we will see powder days into the weekend.
