A level of standard as high as the Rockies themselves.
The new lodge at Island Lake raises the bar on secluded mountain lodging.
July 6, 2005
Island Lake Lodge opened the doors to their new main lodge, The Tamarack. The new lodge will include eight new deluxe rooms, dining room, kitchen, wine library and wellness spa facility.
“It’s the final stage in bringing all aspects of Island Lake Lodge to the level of standard we have strived for since we began fully operating in the summer 4 years ago” Dave Nicholls, Marketing and Sales Manager. “We now stand tall with all elements of our business Hiking, Spa and Dining in a remote wilderness lodge”.
The new lodge dining room and patio now sit above the existing lodges providing incredible views of the mountains, forest and lake. Without taking away from the intimate atmosphere, the new dining room seats 60 comfortably, perfect for small weddings, family reunions, groups and corporate retreats. The wine library will display our eclectic wine list that is sure to please a variety of palates.
The new spa includes five treatment rooms, including a couples massage room with a deep Japanese soaker tub, outdoor hot tubs, solarium and outdoor relaxation area. The Spa at Island Lake focuses on relaxation and rejuvenation. The mountains provide endless adventures from paddling the jade lake to hiking from the lush forests to mountain tops. “We always felt our spa reached beyond the treatment room walls” Cathy Morris, spa manager. “We recommend enhancing the newly found relaxation with a walk around the lake or into the mystical beauty of the Old Growth Forest.”
Secluded in the peaks of the Canadian Rockies, Island Lake Lodge sits above a stunning mountain lake on 7,000 acres of pristine wilderness, 20 minutes from Fernie, B.C. It is easily reached in a 2.5-hour drive from the airport in Kalispell, Montana, or a leisurely three-hour drive from the Calgary International Airport in Alberta. Island Lake offers fantastic hiking through a 900 year-old “Old Growth” forest and to the summits of surrounding mountains. Relax later with any of a dozen spa treatments from hot stone massage to aromatherapy and mineral mud body wraps. Experience the finest in fresh regional cuisine, from hearty breakfasts to three-course gourmet dinners, and a well-stocked wine library.
